This Privacy Policy describes how Robert C Bourne ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles your information when you use the Rhetoriq mobile application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

1. Information We Collect

Rhetoriq is designed with privacy in mind. We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service.

Information you provide:

• Text you enter into the App for rewriting, translation, or dialect localization
• Your selected preferences (tone, language, dialect style)

Information collected automatically:

• Device type and operating system version (for compatibility purposes)
• App usage data such as feature interactions and session duration (anonymized)
• Crash reports and error logs (to improve stability)
• Purchase and subscription status (managed by Apple App Store / Google Play)

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information unless you contact us directly.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process your text through our AI writing features (Rewrite, Translate, Dialect Localization)
• Maintain your local rewrite history on your device
• Improve the accuracy and performance of the App
• Diagnose and fix technical issues
• Manage your subscription status

3. AI Processing

Text you submit is processed by OpenAI's API to generate rewritten, translated, or dialect-localized output. This processing is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy. We do not store your submitted text on our servers after processing is complete. Text is transmitted securely over HTTPS.

4. Data Storage

Your rewrite history is stored locally on your device only using your device's secure storage. We do not upload your history to any server or cloud service. If you delete the App, your history is permanently deleted.

5. Subscriptions and Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect or store your payment information. Subscription management is handled through your device's native store account. For billing questions, please contact Apple or Google directly.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI API — AI text processing. Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — Subscription management. Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store / Google Play — App distribution and payments.

7. Children's Privacy

Rhetoriq is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Data Retention

Since we do not store your text or personal data on our servers, there is no server-side data to retain or delete. Your local history can be cleared at any time from the Settings screen within the App.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your personal information
• Object to or restrict our processing of your information
• Data portability

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below. Since we store minimal data, most requests can be fulfilled by clearing your local App data.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. All communication between the App and our AI processing services is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
